Adam Hunnter demonstrated his versatiLITy on Wednesday at the media press conference. Hunter, the assistant coach for the Luther Lions, spoke on behalf of his team and of his brother Joel who is the head coach. When tthe formalities were over, Adam Hunter switched hats and assumed the role of a reporter for CBC. What else is my former basketball coach capable of?
Riffel head coach Wade Hackl drew an interesting parallel between milestones that are being celebrated by the Luther Invitational Touurnament and queen Elizabeth II. During Wednesdays LIT press conference, Hackl noted that the queen is celebrating her 60th year as a monarch, and Luther is concurrently marking its own 60th anniversary; Hackl hopes this is a good omen. His teams nickname, after all, is the Royals.
Back in elementary school, there was no way to find out about LIT other than by word of mouth or by the conventional media. Now, LIT is going through some great changes that will ultimately make it a much bigger event.
Luther College High School will be celebrating its 60th annual Luther Invitational Tournament (LIT) February 9-11, 2012. The tournament features eight teams representing Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba; the tournament will also feature the first-ever senior girls’ tournament, the Challenge Cup.
It has been my pleasure to be involved with LIT since I became a teacher at Luther College 25 years ago. Each year brought excitement to the whole school culminating each night when the home team hit the floor. The girls in our school have always been heavily involved in committees and have benefitted from the experience. As the Senior Girl's Coach, a part of me has always wanted my team to experience the excitement that is brought when the home team hits the floor. Finally, that will become a reality for my team.

On Tuesday, January 10th, 2012, four Regina teams competed to take their spots in the 60th Luther Invitational Tournament draw. The gym was packed, the players were ready, and the crowd cheered in the hopes that their team would make the cut!
Today, Luther College high school released its complete schedule for the 60th Annual Luther Invitational Tournament (LIT). Although the tournament will follow the same three-day schedule, Luther College high school is proud to officially announce the first-ever girls game, a single exhibition game called the Challenge Cup. The Challenge Cup will take place Friday, February 10, 2012 at 4 p.m.
