Winnipeg Sisler Spartans

From a school of nearly 2000 students, the Winnipeg Sisler Spartans made an incredible impact on the energy of the tournament in 2017, winning the 65th LIT in one of our most exciting games to date, and they are bringing it back this year! Both the Senior Boys and Girls teams will be attending, as well as their junior teams. Known around Luther and in the Regina community for their energy, positivity, and excitement on the court and in the stands, we are so happy to have this incredible team coming back. This year, they have already placed 1st in the Kildonan East Tip-Off Tournament and are hungry for more wins. On the team, both Shawn Maranan and Malachi Alexander were members of Team Manitoba for the Canada Games 2017, and Elijah McKay, Devyn Bandusiak, and Kwinton Cochrane were members of Team Manitoba for the North American Indigenous Games 2017. All of the team members give their absolute best effort in every game and practice, which is evident in watching them play. Their endurance never seems to run out, and they are strongly led by Shawn Maranan, a player who leads by example and puts the team ahead of himself. We are so excited to have the Sisler Spartans back this year and cannot wait to see them play again in LIT!
