Friday Recap

The second day of L.I.T. 64 started at 12:00 with a game featuring the Marion Graham Falcons from Saskatoon and the Winnipeg Kildonan-East Rievers. The Falcons won the game with a score of 90 with the Rievers falling shortly behind at 83. Following was the sixth game of the boy’s tournament, an anxiously awaited game at 2:00 that pitted the Campbell Collegiate Tartans and the Luther Lions. The game drew a large Luther representation in the crowd and was fuelled with excitement by some impressive plays by the Lions. Despite the good effort set out by the Lions, the Tartans claimed victory with a score of 85-50. The second game of the Senior Girls Round Robin was played at 4:00 where the LeBoldus Golden Suns faced off the Sheldon Spartans. The Golden Suns, with a one point win with the help of a foul shot, won with a score of 61-60, and successfully defended a spot to play the Luther Lions Senior Girls in the 6:00 finals on Saturday February 13th. Keeping the win streak for their school, the LeBoldus Golden Suns boy’s team won against the Oak Bay Bay’s 85-71. In the final game of the evening at 8:00, John Taylor won with a score of 90-73, claiming a place in the finals along with the LeBoldus Suns on Saturday at 8:00.
