LIT Girl's Challenge Cup

It has been my pleasure to be involved with LIT since I became a teacher at Luther College 25 years ago. Each year brought excitement to the whole school culminating each night when the home team hit the floor. The girls in our school have always been heavily involved in committees and have benefitted from the experience. As the Senior Girl's Coach, a part of me has always wanted my team to experience the excitement that is brought when the home team hits the floor. Finally, that will become a reality for my team.

The Luther College Senior Girl Lions have been afforded the wonderful opportunity to share the experience with the Moose Jaw Peacok Toilers. In 1953, Moose Jaw teams were highlighted in the first LIT. It seems only fitting that we begin this new era with a girl's team from Moose Jaw. The Toilers are coached by Rene Verge, and last year the team captured a silver medal at Hoopla; they were also awarded the Sportsmanship Banner. Rene leads by example, understanding the importance of high school sport in building a young athletes' character.

As the Female version of the Black and Gold hit the floor, we honor all the players who have come before: Those I have coached over the past 25 years and thos who have come before me. Come join us at this historic event!
