Perfect Storm for Riffel?

Riffel head coach Wade Hackl drew an interesting parallel between milestones that are being celebrated by the Luther Invitational Touurnament and queen Elizabeth II. During Wednesdays LIT press conference, Hackl noted that the queen is celebrating her 60th year as a monarch, and Luther is concurrently marking its own 60th anniversary; Hackl hopes this is a good omen. His teams nickname, after all, is the Royals.

Back in elementary school, there was no way to find out about LIT other than by word of mouth or by the conventional media. Now, LIT is going through some great changes that will ultimately make it a much bigger event.

The Experience

LIT is a second home.  I am very grateful that I was able to attend and grow up around Luther College High School.  My father, Mark Anderson, has been employed at Luther since before I was born and is now the principal.  Growing up, I always thought the only reason he worked at Luther was because LIT was hosted there.  What other motives could there possibly be to be a teacher at Luther, right?  I have attended virtually every LIT since I was born, missing only one because I was playing in a hockey tournament — at which I faced 100 shots in one game.

60 years of History: LIT

There are less than 32 days before the 60th Annual Luther Invitational Tournament takes place; during this short period of time, students, faculty, staff and alumni (to name a few) will be working on final preparations before the big day, February 9. Although the tournament is known to be a continuously-running tournament that is now in its 60th year, what is harder to describe is the tournament itself.
